The progress of installation of LED street lights in Halifax Canada

Halifax in Canada has over 40,000 intelligent LED lights. The US Silver Spring smart grid power supplier announced that it will install the north of the port city of Halifax with LED lights. The intelligence street lighting has become a common requirement in improving real-time monitoring network security. Unlike in the other LED lights project, in this one the 43,000 LED lights are meant to attack the intelligent LED street lights system.

The Silver Spring Networks Inc commonly referred to as SSNI has all the intelligent street lighting services as well as solutions. This will also include the streetlight vision control software. The system which will be used to connect the 43,000 street smart lights has already been formed. These lights will be provided by the intelligent lighting system manufacturers LED Roadway. Halifax being the capital city of Canadian province of Nova Skoda Valencia has a total of 40 million inhabitants and covers a wide area of up to 5490 square kilometers. This is the Canada’s largest municipal coastal areas.

The LED street lights installation project manager by the name Angus and the public facilities coordination manager by the name Doyle said that they are doing it to ensure that all people are living in a healthy as well as safe environment with adequate public space, roads as well as bright streets. The SSNI from street lighting platform provides a real time monitoring of the status of return thereby eliminating the need for people to ask for repair. This enables better management of the LED lights.

Doyle also added that this platform will also bring application of smart cities in Halifax. Thus, all the data will be digital, adequate electricity and water from the billboards which will also be easier to manage.
